VW heritage radiator replacement

Fan attachment

Has anyone attempted to replace their old radiator with a new VW heritage rad?
The holes on the new rad for the fan to screw into don't seem to take the screw like the old rad did to secure the fan to it?
Anyone suffered with this issue and any suggestions on how to sort?

Thanks Screenshot_20180415-124940.jpg

Think I may be answering my own question  I believe the rad is self tapping 🙈

Some are like that, and some have threaded inserts.

There's always a first time, certainly won't be your last!

Since this is a radiator thread, there is a easy mod to your shrouds that make installation and removal easier.

That is fantastic cheers bri will remember for next time. I didn't see this problem as I disconnected all the hoses beforehand anyway

That mod is to remove the shroud only then isn't it? Because removal of radiator you would be removing the pipes anyway?

Yes mate, it's a handy guide, but totally irrelevant to what you were doing.

With all the stuff in my way, when all you have to do is replace a defective Radiator Fan, making those simple cuts to the sheet tin make removing the shroud a whole lot easier especially if the hose clamps get in your way. And replacing the radiator with those cuts it makes it less wieldy.
