Vac Line Help and other fine tuning

Hey guys,

Having a few issues trying to get all my vac lines connected properly after doing an engine swap.  The original engine was a 1.7L 8v from an 84 rabbit and the engine that went in is a 1.8L 8v from what i was told an early 80s GLI.  The car runs, it runs a bit rich, it failed aircare with high CO so i need to adjust that as well…

Heres the engine in the bay…

The yellow vac line goes to the distro around to the back of the throttle body.  Thats how i have it setup right now, is that correct?

This line goes nowhere, if i plug it the car idles really rough and will stall itself out.

This guy comes up from the top of the head and i have no idea where it goes.  Theres a bolt plugging it right now, its sucking air in and if i unblock it the rpms raise

This sensor commonly slips out, what is this sensors job?

And finally my grounds…I've cleaned them all and replaced the negative cable with a new female connector and heavy gauge wire.  It still needs 3 wires, one to the frame, engine and then trans.  I really dont think thats how its supposed to be :P  If i have alot of load on the battery the car will die if its at idle (such as sitting at a light, stereo on, fan on and heater on).

So thats the issues with my rabbit…other then that the car runs pretty good but im sure as soon as i get these issues sorted out it will pull stronger then before, and ill love it even more.  :rockin:

Anyways cheers, looking forward to any input somebody has.

you septics have a different set up to what i'm used to but this hose should either go somewhwere or be blocked off. i'm assuming it doesn't drive too well. when capping this off the idle and co will need adjusting. try raising idle (via the screw on the throttle body the plugging it.
the yellow hose is correct (for a uk mk1)
the slipping electrical plug i assume is to the aav which would affect warm up. tape it on a bit more securely.
