engine removal

Little help with engine removal here. Have a few questions.

Intend to drop engine downwards on my 82 gti mk1.

To remove the exhaust manifold so I can drop the engine I have to remove the anti roll bar.

Is removing this as simple as unbolting? It's not supporting my suspension is it?.. 

Roll bar is independent
