twin 40 DCOE conversion

Just testing the water to see if anybody has replaced the K-Jet sytem the 40 dcoes?

how much extra work is involved i know the obvious bit like breather tank fuel pump pressure etc etc but uncertain of of vacuum changes dizzy requirements….

Im looking at fitting them to an 81 1.6 EG engine. I have the carbs manifold etc and have jetted them accordingly for a 1600cc.

Any feed back would be great thanks.

the dizzy still needs vacuum to give you load/rpm dependant advance, so keep the vac line from the dizzy and give it a manifold vacuum source.

you'll need somewhere to route your crankcase breather into  (old pop bottle  maybe)

dead easy really, get to it!!

Take it easy ; )

I'm looking at doing the exact same thing albeit with bike carbs. Initially wanted to do a 16v conversion but i think bike carbs for the 8V and then put the bike carbs on the 16V when i convert it as it seems converting the 16v to carbs requires a bit more time and effort.

If converting an EG to carbs requires nothing more than the complete manifold/carb set up and routing a few pipes then it looks pretty easy :)

Quick question, would it be sufficient to take a feed from one of the inlet runners and route that to the dizzy as the vacuum source?
