Throttle cable

Hi guys,
I recetly bought a new throttle cable for my '83 golf gti 1800 8v from euro car parts.
i have fed it through the bulkhead and fitted it to the pedal.
But at the throttle body end the attachment doesnt fit the ball.
The hole is tooo big!
I otice my old oe had like a metal cap over the top of the cable?????

Also the circlip to stop the rubber bung sliding isnt in the pack.

Do you have to buy separate??? if so where from guys!

only cost pennies! and they are nice and shiny!
