Temp Sensor

Does anyone know where I can get a repalcement temp sensor?  The red 'overheating' light is flashing like mad at me.  I'm told the part I'm after is the two-wire brass screw fitting one, but everyone I've tried says they are no longer available?

On some models the light is also low coolant warning, so check that first. if you do have a level sensor and coolant is ok, disconnect the plug on top of the header tank and bridge the pins. if that sorts the problem remove the sensor and clean up the ends of the level sense pins. if that doesnt help you need a new sesnor.

if it still flashes with the sensor plug bridged then remove the level sensor relay, #42 or 43 aboce the fusebox.  This will disable the level warnign system completly, if it still flashes its the coolant sensor, wiring or the clocks at fault.

the dash temp sensor is the single pin sensor with a black collar, it'll be in one of the coolant flanges on the head, front or side. Oh and it has a red/yellow wire.
