Is this normal??

Thanks

Mine used to sit at two thirds up the scale, where did yours used to sit?  If it's reading higher than normal it could be water pump or slipping alternator belt or thermostat or radiator blocked….or just a dodgy temperature sensor.

You'll need to do a few checks to find the fault.

Hello Warren, Long time no speak! How is the 16v conversion coming on???

At normal running it sits under half way - when travelling at speed increases to 3/4 - Is this normal?

Hi Gazza,  16v is done, Mot'd and taxed  :cheer:  :cheer: , have a couple of things to tweek, which I'll sort on Friday, then it's off to Midland Festival of Transport on Sunday

Next time it gets upto 3/4 pull over and quickly see if your cooling fan is running, Dont take too long having a look as the fan will kick in pretty quickly when you stop, but the ram air effect of driving down the road at this time of year should keep her below the temperature that the cooling fan kicks in, f the fan is running then you have a problem which may or may not be addressed in my previous post.

Nice one - Keep us posted when we we are to start the camping season!

I will try it next time I travel in excess of 100mph!

hey guys….

ive just recently bought a VR6 Carrado. the plan is to put the engine and gearbox into my mk1 cabrio. Ive only had it for a few days but have noticed the temp is running MUCH higher that my 1.8 cabrio.

WATER TEMP is 230 F (110 C) (this is high right)

OIL TEMP is the same, but when i CAIN it it shoots up to about 260-270 F (130 C) (think OK)
