strange misfire on the gti

Gooood morning! right im having some real issues with the gti, its seriouslyy misfiring, and it takes it a good tenseconds of fire to start up, but when it does finally fire up, its only firing on like 2 cylinders, but after about ten seconds itsfine it all fires up, but when im driving ( in every frigging gear may i add ) it gets to about 1500-2000 revvs and its splurts and splutters like a bitch! i went to start her this morning and only one cylinder was firing and barely started and when it did the other cylinders didnt fire, i had the plgs off last week and one was damp but not oily, and my heads fine so i know its not moisture i.e water on my plugs. so should i just rebuild my distributor and clean up my rotor arm etc........

I would first check that you have replaced all the leads in the correct order as you say you removed all the plugs?  Also check the Dis cap for cracks?

i have literally done every check to find a fault in my ignition system yet nothing, so onto the fueling i go, and my pump can make a god awful noise when it wants to so might just replace it and see if it makes a difference the only the reason i say this is because ihave flushed the injectors already and its still doing it but more at about 2300 now
