starts first time but cuts out if not left to warm up?

my GTI 1.8 cabby starts every time perfectly but as soon as i touch the accelerater pedal it cuts out. it runs fine and will rev fine after left running for about 5 mins, had new plugs leads and distributor but still does it??? any help would be much apreciated

My GTI did that, turned out it was high fuel pressure, think you need to check the fuel pressure.
