16v kr engine wont stay running

can anybody help me i have a mk1 16v  recently started acting up now when i turn the engine over i have to keep my foot on the throttle or the engine dies thought it myt be the isv in the engine bay so i have replaced that and the problem still occurs :'(

where would i check the fuel pressure the engine keeps goin up to 2000rpm when it does tick over then dies straight after.

check the idle switch clicks when throttle closes and the throttle linkage closes up to the stop and hits it every time no matter how fast/slow you release the throttle. check the upper linkage part that hits the switch is smoth and free in operation, if not undo the top nut, remove it then clean and grease. when you refit it all take extra care not to catch the spring in the plastic washers or it will stick again

think i found my problem i have no problem i have no power going to my isv so would i be right in thinking the problem will be the black box 244 and if it is can i by pass it or is there a way to fix it.

check the power and earth feeds to the isv control unit first, black is ign live brown/white is earth to head

just checked and there is power going to the moduel but not to the isv.

ok next check the isv wiring, black wire should be ignition live the white is pulsed. pull the boot off and check inside, look at the pins and trace the wiring back to the control unit. try another isv, check the red/green wire to the sensor on the side of the head, swap it to another sensor see if that helps. check the brown/white earths to the head, onew of them is usually for the isv control unit

av checked an the plug to the isv with a meter and nothing at all the isv isnt buzzing nothing but the power goes to the isv moduel in the dash.

anybody know where i can get my hands on a isv moduel unit without payn silly money just missed 1 on ebay :'(
