Solved the misfire problem

I had a misfire after running the car for about 40 mins when pulling away. It started mildly then got worse but went away at high revs.  :dontknow:

I changed the plugs, leads, cap, replaced an injector, timing set, mixture set but all this didnt help.  I have been at this for months. :banghead:

Today I changed the rotor arm which had the rev limiter on it to a later 1.8 one which didnt look anything like the orginal but fitted on and the misfires gone. The original rotor cost ?15 and this one only cost ?3.50.

Something for you all to consider maybe if you have the common misfire problem. Oh, and dont forget to take your foot off the accelerator, it goes up so quick and now goes beyond which may cause other problems.

i have advised peaple before on them rev limiting rotors. first thing i do is chuck em in the bin and use a non limiter one.

Theres a resistor also fitted to these rev-cut types that can fail and cause a poor spark although i cant remember the value of it off hand….

Best to do as wooders suggests and ditch the dam things. :)
