Snapped main bearing bolts

I was rebuilding my engine at lunchtime and got out the torque wrench so tighten the main bearing bolts. The wrench wouldn't set to 65nm so i set it to 66nm. One of the bolts stretched(didn't quite snap) quite badly so it was obviously being overtightened. It turns out the handle on the wrench had been slack and our slack jawed apprentice tightened the nut at the bottom of the wrench causing the settings to go to pot!!!!
Lucky for him he is iff work this week or the torque wrench would have been going where the sun don't shine  :x
10 bolts on order from VW for tommorrow!!

Thanks, still not sure what im doing yet but whatever happens the engine will have to be rebuilt anyway.
Just glad the bolts never snapped in the block or damaged the block threads or i would definitely have given up…
