Schrick rocker cover - cleaning

Hi

I want to clean the gauze in the breather part of this rocker cover. I've used white spirit which has done a fair job but want to try and clean it fully. Anyone know if I can take the top off or any other ideas?

Can't answer your question about taking the gauze out, but on my standard cam cover I cleaned it in place by using a small steam cleaner and blasting steam through it after I had soaked in engine degreaser.
