Rocker Cover Cracked!

I,ve only owned my 1990 cabrio 1.8 gti for about a month and i've just found out my rocker cover has got a huge crack in it! :banghead:  My qustion is! With it being a 1990 spec cabrio is it a mk1 or mk2 engine rocker cover i need? also, when i change it what gasket would you recommend i use? Original cork or new silicon type? Any help would be greatly welcome! Thanks Mark.

Post up the engine code.  That way we'll know for sure.  As c-au-l says, only the very late cabs had Digi.

Its pouring with rain outside and my cars not under cover so will have to get the engine code tomorrow. Thanks for the info so far! As to the gasket which one would you suggest? Thanks. :dontknow:

I'd go for the original.  Can be a little tricky to get right.
Some good advice for both types HERE
