rivage newbie

Hi there ,just joined today and wanted to ask a question?. Ive got a k reg 92 rivage and the gearbox is knackered.I got another 1 from volks apart and when it finally arrived,(sent 1st one somewhere else) my mechanic said it goes on but theres no holes (mounts)? for it to bolt on to chassis etc. Is this because its from a real early mk1 and my box is different? I did tell them it was a 92.I gonna get mine reconditioned and send theirs back i think but any help would be appreciated. Im no mechanic so if this is a bit vague im sorry, cheers

think it may be from a smaller engined car, i believe when you go from small block to big block engines the gearbox mount is different.

this may be because they have different gear boxes. you may have a gearbox from an early small block.

this is what i believe from what i've learnt since joining this site.

some one will correct me if i'm wrong.

Thanks for info guys,my gearbox kept slipping out of 5th, crunched in 3rd then finally got stuck in 5th. Hopefully it can be reconned...
