Replacement coolant hoses

The top hose on my 1.6GTI split on me this morning, and I need a replacement pretty sharpish… However, while I'm doing it I'd rather replace the whole lot. So, can anyone recommend who to buy them from?

Ideally I'd like to buy a genuine set from VW. Apparently they no longer do all the hoses though - is this definitely the case? My local main stealer, Ridgeway VW, are generally very poor at customer service and parts.

I then thought about a Samco set. Could anyone provide me with a link to the demon tweeks website where you can get the specific stuff for the Mk1?

I also thought about GSF and ECP - can anyone recommend any of their coolant hoses? Very few of the ones they offer are genuine, and I'd rather do the job once and do it right.

do gsf do them?? there are some on fleabay but unsure of quality etc

Yer they seem to - I've never really been happy with the quality of anything that they stock which isn't branded though. I may go with it for now, and replace the whole lot at a later date.

Also, I eventually found what I was looking for on Demon Tweeks, but the full set is ?100 and there's 15-30 days lead time, so that's more of a long term plan than anything.

We shall see…

I think I'm right in saying that there's a few hoses missing from their 'complete' kit, so bear that in mind when buying. You can buy separate small sections from them also - click here and scroll down for that page…
