Radiator question

I noticed a slight water leak from the coolant overflow hose where it connects to the top of the radiator on my '92 sportline this afternoon. Thought i'd do the right thing and investigate further by pulling the hose off the radiator and in the process I've managed to snap the plastic nipple clean off :banghead:
My question is : Can I temporarily blank it with a screw or bolt until I can source a new radiator and does anyone rate the radiators that GSF or Eurocarparts stock?

Thanks

hi spud,

i tried that on a mk2 gti about a year ago and the short answer is….no :) i blanked it with a small piece of the hose with a screw wound in and it burst off down the road draining my cooling system. I used a eurocarparts rad when i repaired it and never suffered a problem so id say go for it

cheers

I've just fitted a Nissen radiator. My regular parts factor guy speaks highly of them, and was amazed at the "competitive" price… £37 at trade.

Ended up going for a Eurocarparts supplied rad for under £40 including the members discount.
