problem with mk1 cab

Hi all new to this.
recently bought a mk 1 cab. Running fine untill the filler neck started to corode. Managed to get that sorted but then it started to miss fire then just go dead on me and stall. Changed the plugs and the HT leads but theres still nothing there. can anyone help please?.

many things it could be that go wrong after rust in your tank,i would start with unbolting tank side of the filter,(under bonnet) pop the pipe into a jar and turn the key to prime,see what colour the fuel is and if it delivers fuel,that way you kind of narrow your serch down,to pumps or injection,more than that over the interweb is hard :dontknow: i have a gti cab, if you dont, then dont listen to a word i say :dontknow:
