problem starting

can anyone tell me if they have the same problem as i am having with my golf. If the car sits for a while, it wont start. We are getting fuel through the system, the car fires, but will not start which means it could possibly be something electrical? Does anyone have any ideas

injection or carb ?

if its injection it could be a leaky injector(s) try running some injector cleaner through the system, or take them out and make a holder using a couple of tupperwear tubs with holes drilled into the lids, then turn the igntion on and the system should prime with 1 squirt, if they squirt then dribble you have your problem.
