Poor cold start, lumpy and high idle, running rich
Long time without a mk1 but I bought my cabby a couple of weeks ago and have given her a service (HT leads, rotor arm, dizzy cap, plugs, oil) but that's made no difference to my problem with her.
She can take something like 15-20 turns to get going, and then the revs bounce between 1000 and 500 until she's warmed up.
Then she's idling aroung 1600 when warm and smells like she's definitely running rich - I don't want to mess with the idle and mixture screws until I solve the cold start problem though as I reckon the previous owner has fiddled with them both in an attempt to solve the poor cold start - which hasn't worked!
Any thoughts on what I should be checking?
Cheers all,
P
