It just happend all of a sudden, i gave it a clean and a wax filled it up with petrol, then it broke down..

I have had it in a garage (over a week)and they said my car was under fueling.
(dont know how much of that is true)
To be honest the garage its in at the moment i think they dont have a clue whats wrong with it.

Im hoping one of you can help me out,

the coil normaly just cuts out if it goes, but it is worth checking as to how hot it's getting. so we're assuming that it drives fine and then 20mins or there abouts it coughs and splutters then dies?
have you tuned the co since changing the parts? it sounds like fuelling.

Yea it just splutters and dies.
It does seem to be when the engine gets hot it cuts out.
As it runs for longer on tick over but drive it and it will cut out
Tune the coil over?? is this something that needs to be done when changing parts?

Sorry im pretty new to all this and only know what the Mechanic told me.

You need to find out if its running rich, lean, or if its an ignition problem.

How are you now sure the mixture is correct? It doesn't sound like ignition, after all it runs fine when not warmed up, in the first 20 mins…..

my gess is its in the fuel system not electrical.  There is an accumulator next to the fuel pump.  This maintains the pressure in the fuel system.  This would be my first check but it's difficult to diagnose without seeing the car.

The Fuel was running very lean 0.5bar now it has been increased to 3.5 bar so we know its not running lean anymore.

Get another mechanic to look at it, then.

Hi,
Found out i have debris in my tank.
anyone know of how to get it out without having to remove the tank.

I have heard you can stick a big magnet to the tank and that solves the
problem…any truth in this??

thanks,
jez
