Please Help - Car Just Died

Just came home and was getting a little bit of squeaking so popped the bonnet to look what it could be, thought it was coming from under the TB/inlet side. sounded like it was running fine though but a little squeeky!

Then something went "ping" and dropped to the floor (see pic) and now it's running like shit. Proper running on 3 style…

No idea what this is? Can anyone help? Just got it and need it to get to work so any help would be so useful.

What year, engine you got fitted and also a better photo would help, as it's a bit blurred, and how big is the thing in the photo?

I'm only guessing until you post up a better pic, but is it the idle adjuster in the throttle body?

Good call - I think you're right… Judging by the photo it looks similar, and it would explain the rough running too.

It was the air fuel mix screw, had come out the back hense the crap running! Back in now and sorted out the idle trouble too, running much better

See the groove above the threads - There should be a little o-ring in there that seals the screw shaft to prevent leaks. Looks like it has perished and allowed the screw to work loose, falling off along the way!

Not sure if you can get the o-rings at all, but I made my own out of a piece of fuel tube - Fitted perfectly…
