PArt number for injector

Been to GSF and not really to my surprise I've come away again with the worng part, happens nearly all the time.

Right need an injector for a Mk1 golf gti cab year 89. The one they supplied the thread was too big.

Also got the old one out and split the seal putting it back in and they were new not so long ago.  :banghead:  Seemed to get caught on the seat bit that sticks up thats a redish colour. There is about a quarter of it missing and has a slighlty sharp edge now. Did try and remove but can't get it out, can't see as it does anything anyway. Let me know if your wiser, and if they can be replaced.

cheers

I have a part number for injectors for an '88 cab. I replaced mine in December 03. They have the little hat on the bottom.

The part number I have on the receipt is 035 133 551 C

I got them from ECP ?35.99 +vat each 8O
Its scary looking through so many receipts!

I think there are a couple of revisions for injectors so its probably best to pull out one of your injectors and note down the numbers off it.

I replaced mine cause I thought they might be leaking as the car takes a bit of cranking before it starts. It didn't solve the problem :banghead:

Cheers,

Ross

Yeah these have got the little hat but thread is too big.

Eeek so it didn't fix your cranking issue. Tell me the car run better though don't want to spend over ?100 without any notice of change.

It didn't make much difference to power either!

My black GTI did have leaky injectors however. I took them off and soaked them in fuel over night, then blasted air through them with an air line. This stopped them leaking and it did improve starting so it fires as soon as the starter kicks in  8) .

Do prowlers injector test or follow the haynes. I still havent got to the bottom of the problem with the cab, Mark83 suggested it could be the lift pump, but havent looked into getting a new one yet. It could also be a problem with the cold start valve leaking  :dontknow:.
