Opinions on head gasket manufacturer please?

Post

I've always used Elring in the past and have never had a problem but I've bought a Victor Reinz  one from GSF this time. Has any one had any good/bad experiences using Victor Reinz? I've read on some other forums to steer clear.

I know the manufacturer really can matter. My brother changed his head gasket 3 times on his Polo before it finally sealed, 3rd time he used elring and it was fine after that. I can't remember what the other makes he used were but they came from local motor factors.

Cheers,
Ross

Victor Reinz are exellent…O.E suppliers…genuine VW are no doubt Reinz, though manufactures buy/spec parts from a number of sources.

You'll find many Elring packs with Reinz gaskets.

got a Victor Reinz from gsf and the guy who's helping me put it in (VW specilist with own garage) said that "thats a good make, pretty much OEM quality". It's also described by most retailers as a premium brand. So i'm happy enough.
