Oil Change

Can anyone recommend the best oil for my Gti ?
Its an 83, 1.8, 150,000 miles, rebuilt with kent cam…
Very little use, approx 1,500 miles per year.

I'd personally use Synta Silver 10W40 in a GTI, and whatever the cheapest semi synth 10W40 is, for a non-GTI. I'm considering using fully synth for track days, however.

yeap i'd agree synta silver i've used it for 11 years in my Gti now reading 178k
