noisey tappets after sitting for 4 months

hello my gti has been sat in my garage for around 4 months, i have started it a fue times since it been there and a short run to the body shop but when i started last it sounded like the tappets were out, it sounded like a diesel :roll:  could this be because it has been sat and will just need some running in again or wil i need to have a look?

word of advice to all who leave a car to stand for a short while. change the oil and filter.
 the oil drains down into the sump. if it's had enough time the top end will end up very dry. this is not good. drain your oil and change the filter and give her some fresh oil. see what she's like then.

As above, but drain around a litre off and put some ATF in there, run it for around 20 mins at 2000 rpm, then drain, new filter and refill oil system!

I would leave the atf in for a bit longer. I just did 200 miles (gentle driving) with mine in and it cleaned up the insides a treat...
