Need help a.s.ap please engine code

DVLA are asking me for the following and i need it tonight as ive sold my car


Engine number

Engine code

Cubic capacity



I have the 1.8 16v MK2 GTi engine


Were do i find all the above?

The engine code and a sequence number, can't think of any other "engine number", are located on a machined pad at the top of the motor block between cylinders 3 and 4. Often rusted or so dirty it can not be read, often the stamping is weak or only half there also, so be prepared to attempt to clean it off.

As I have been told there were never any PL code 16v engines used in the UK it must be a KR code engine. 1781cc if I recall correctly. Sequence number depends on when it was manufactured.
