Need an expert on wiring up my gti

I have finally got my engine in after a full rebuild

Unfortunatly its 4 years since i removed it

Im stuck on wiring around the battery, starter motor, and fan

Can anyone help?

I'm no expert but I have just attatched the wiring to my cab, so if you start with your alternator you need two connectors one larger one to attatch to the large nut on the alternator this one will be red with a large ring termination on it, you also need a smaller blue cable with a smaller ring term, this goes on the smaller conection on the alternator.

The large red alternator cable then goes to the starter motor and then theres a plate thing which devides the red cable from the alternator, from another large cable which goes to the battery. There is another cable that goes to the other terminal on the starter but I cant remeber where this comes from.

The fan wiring should be fairly easy to spot as the connector is pretty unique just try all the plugs on the fan assembly to find which one fits. think mine was a three pin with one pin blank.

Its best to lay all your cables that come through the bulk head out where they natrally want to lie, as this is probably where they have been for the last 15 odd years! most of the main cables to the battery go from the bulk head behind the expansion tank and air box to the battery.

This should get you started before some one will correct me no doubt!
