Mystery Earth Strap

Hi there fellow Mk1ers!  While in the process of removing my ignition coil (attached to my bulk head) and I stumbled upon a rogue earth strap.  It was connected to the ignition coil bracket and wasn't connected to anything!  I was hoping that someone would know what it should be connected to as it is not apparent where it has come from!?  It is about a foot long, 80mm wide.

Any thoughts guys?

Hi mate, sorry I havent rang you back - completeley forgot, PM me your number and I'll try ring you tomorrow if I get chance.  That earth strap has been added at somepoint (ie not standard) but I would be running it down to the rocker cover, thats where I have mine going too

Earth strap DOES go to the top of the rocker cover.
