Mk1 Head Inlet Hose

Slight problem with my mk1 DX, got a split in the U-Bend hose for connecting the left hand side of the y-piece of the heater matrix feed to the right hand side inlet/outlet on the head. Any one had this problem and know where to get this hose as went to local dealers and found out part is obsolete and cannot get them from local ECP either.

Not 100% certain which one you mean? Got a pic? I'm just in process of buying some of pipes in this area so may be able to help with part numbers etc?

this is the part



the part no. on it is 049121063JP, but i don't know if this was superseeded by another hose at all.

any help is appreciated.

yeah it has the new part number is 026121063a

that i couldn't say, when u enter ur old part number in etka it says dropped use "new number" as replacement.

tried the part number you gave me at the dealers, but it doesn't look like the right part or am i just being dumb?

it's alright got the dealer to do a parts locate throughout the UK found two dealers, bought the 3 hoses they had left between them, so i've got one for my 1.8 gti and one for my 1.6 block

Hello… How important is the flow restrictor in this pipe? Have just replaced my water pump and had all the pipes off to clean them all out. Pulled the restrictor out to clean it up but have forgotten to put it back in - in fact, not too sure where I have put it! :oops:

Can't really be a***d to drain system again and refill unless I absolutely have to!

Tbh i don't know if the restrictor is important or not i put it back in anyway as the new hoses didn't have it in them so as long as the water temp stays constant for you i wouldn't think there'd be a problem with running without a restrictor

…Restrictor???? I've just stripped and replaced a lot of that part of cooling system. Don't recall seeing this?

Anyone got a pic of it?
