mk1 1.8t oil filter hitting chassis

just put my engine 1.8t in a couple of weeks ago just mounted the oil cooler and sandwich plate but now the filter wont fit is there a 45 degree sandwich plate what you can buy or a shorter oil filter what will work hitting on front lower chassis near front gearbox mount thanks for your help
