misfiring problem

misfiring problem
i'm getting fed up with trying to work out what it is, under load it just misfires its a 88 gti cabrio 1.8 injection
i've changed the:
rotor arm
dizzy cap
leads
plugs
turning the fuel right up made it a bit better
any ideas would be much appriciated

Settling In
I had the same problem with my car. The fuel pump filter was full of rust scale, I cleaned that out and it ran better, a sign of this was cornering hard on less then half a tank and the engine just died, then when the car leveled out, it jumped back into life. The extra restriction on fuel on a low tank was just to much. The tank will need a good cleaning too if this is the case!!!

we have thought injector problems or more specifically the fuel metering unit
i will have a ganders in the fuel filter
