Hi
Been looking on here for a while to try and sort my misfire problem out. I changed the dizzy cap and the rotor arm, had a new meter head and had the co2 adjusted but nothing seems to work. The HT leads look brand new and there is also a new coil on it. Was wondering if the timing was out and if this is something i can adjust? Also was wondering about the head gasket and if this could be a potential problem?
Any help would be great
Thanks
Alex

Which fuel are you using, super or normal unleaded?

To run normal unleaded you need to adjust the timing as these cars was made to run on 98 RON petrol and normal unleaded is 95 RON most super unleaded is 97 to 100 RON so it's more suited to the car. I found mine would not run right on normal unleaded the idle was lumpy and a little down on power even though I adjusted the timing to run normal unleaded.
Its all about smiles per miles….
Try a tank full of super unleaded and see if that helps.

Bit of an update, i have changed the spark plugs and it has improved it quite a lot. It is still there but only really when the revs initailly start to climb, do you think this points to an ignition problem? I'm thinking of putting some new leads on and then have a go at setting the timing up that would mean all the components bar the dizzy itself would have been replaced.

If it was me I would change the HT leads if they are any more than 2 years old, it's worth replacing all 5 of them before doing anything with the timing etc.
Just keep the old ones in the boot incase like me you pull the end off the lead while changing the dissy cap!

Hey
Had another crack at the car today, changed the HT leads but the problem is still happening. i popped the injectors out and 3 of the 4 seals had cracks in them and were were flattened out a bit on the one side. Could this be a cause? I'm running out of ideas now, i think this is going to cost more than i was anticipating. Lol.
Any ideas?
Cheers
