misfire mayhem!

Hi Guy's,I have a 83 mk1 GTi 1.8 which all apart from the head is totally  standard,but currently has a major misfire , i've owned it for the past 15 years and no it inside-out having done most of the maintanance work myself,Two years ago the head gasket went and two cut a long story short i replaced the complete Head with a port & polished one.The car is not in daily use and therefore this misfire problem has been present for the last two years,it misses continously on tick over and whilst driving it's present through all gears,I've changed all the usual plugs,leads, etc etc in fact it was fully serviced when i fitted the head,Has anyone else fitted a gas flowed head and had similar problems or do i need to start looking further fuel pump maybe although that's been replaced in recent years :dontknow: .But anyhow if you've got any ideas i'd love to hear from you.Kindest regards.

mmm maybe but i'm 99.9% sure it's not that I'm starting to think more along the lines of fuel!

If the misfire started after you fitted the head then that's the place to look, I would check the compressions first.
