Metering head help!!!! Its driving me crazy please help!!!!

Hi someone please help me its driving me crazy.

My car does about 50 miles on ?10 max if im doing 50 all the time it?s like 25mpg. Does anyone know what it?s likely to be I assume it can?t be much other than the metering head or mixture…plaid with the mixture a lot and I think it?s about where it should be so i assume it?s my metering head? Anyone got any ideas?way of testing the metering head etc?

ANY help would be much appreciated my car is a 1600 GTI 82 x reg!
