Make her Purrrr........ Please!!!!

Hi Guys, need sum help here... I have a 1989 Golf Gti Cab. She had a new petrol tank and neck coz they rusted, and I have had the injectors cleaned in an ultrasonic bath.e it was a new tank we put 15 litres of fuel in (55 litre tank... is this enough to reach the neck???). She has had new sparkies and I have new fuses ready to replace the old ones, she also has a brand new battery... BUT SHE STILL WONT START!!!!! Any ideas guys, the starter motor is turning over and I can smell fumes a little so I know petrol is getting through but she wont actually fire up.... im desperate now, otherwise its a garage for her and I really cant afford that! Thanks for reading guys... Helen. :banghead:

when you fitted  the injecters , did you fit new O rings   (doughnuts )     on the injecters ? and a new fuel filter,  can you get a meter to check the fuel pressure , double check your timing marks line up , and check if you are getting a good spark at each plug …..
also would be worth checking the hall sender unit (small rectangle connecter ) fits onto the side of your dizzy , take it off and check it is clean and dry …and also check the inside of your dizzy , should be clean and dry too ….

Mk1 2l TSR G60.  .getting. There twice as fast

Mk1 lhd diesel…….getting. There for half the cost

Hi there... thanks for the replies, I will be looking at all these in the next day or 2...really appreciate it guys. Lets hope it works or I will b nagging you more. I didnt fit new o rings, will get some new ones. Just realised one of the large o-rings is missing... would this make much of adifference. Looked in the manifold and its not in there so must have broken off the injector?
