loss of power (AGAIN!)

right then people……

the car's been running well all summer, (except running out of oil ) went through mot with just a track rod end. which as it's our only car (and daily driver from leeds to ilkley and back) was quite good for once! mot's usually end up costing us ?300+

anyway as soon as the cold kicked in it started to be bad at starting until it finally gave up starting and very very stopped! so i changed the cold start valve and thermo time switch and checked they were getting power. it started then but very roughly. and was dodgy on acceleration.

so anyway had to get green flagged today from the bottom of our very steep street because the car didn't have enough power to get up it even in first with loads of gas/clutch action…..nowt…..nothing!

so the green flag man said he thought it was a fuel problem. so i changed the fuel filter (even though the old one was 2months old) and checked the one in the pump. the car is still the same.

so any bets?…..
will hopefully be doing the prowler injector test tomorrow!
any thing further while i'm out in the cold?

cheers
mark

Definitely sounds ignition related. Someone had success, when they replaced the leads. An outside possibility, is that its icing in the inlet manifold.

Is the problem occurring when you put your foot down and it feels like 'its missing'?

If so check your plug leads… I have just had the exact same problem and after I changed them (Friday) it has done the 'missing' routine at all.

Give it a go!!!
