loose warm up reg

does anyone know if it matters if your warm up reg isn't properly bolted to the block? mine's a dx engine 1.8i and am having system pressure trouble and happened to notice one of the allen bolts that holds the reg to engine just twirls around…?

Nick - as long as the heat can transfer to the warm up reg from the block it will be fine - or if not it will take longer to warm up giving an overrich mixture until it has warmed up.  i guess you have a stripped thread on the mounting plate.

yeah, i think it is the mounting plate...have been toying with the idea of dropping the engine so i can get to it to put a heli-coil in...bit of a hassle really....if i put another mounting plate on could that save me the hassle of dropping the engine?

Sure would - might be easier to remove the rad and grille for access rather than drop the motor if you need to.
