kr engine and gearbox question

does anyone know if when i put a kr engine into my 1.6 cabby will i be able to run the existing gear box or will i have to get a gear box off a kr model engine? want to get as much info as poss before makeing the engine purchase? all help appreciated

you can keep the 1.6 gearbox m8 not as strong as the kr but will work fine

Thanks tam I'm not gonna be thrashing it about so I can buy a new one when I have more cash and recon it. With I need to change the clutch and fly wheel read I may have to on another thread

all 020 boxes are the same strength internally, just the differing ratios to think about. if its a proper 1.6 gti gearbox it'll be awesome with the kr proper rapid accelleration

yip 1.6 box short ratio so quick thought the box about 130mph top speed
