Injectors
Was hoping to get these out and check the condition of the seals.
Just a quick question do they just pull out as said in the HAynes, I've given them a good tug but they don't budge. :dontknow:

Try using a long nose pliers and use the rocker cover to lever them upwards. They should just pop out.

They SHOULD just pull out, mine just need a very slight tug as shown in second pic - careful not to damage the pipe union !!!!!.
either put some grease or spray some WD40 round the top of the seal
let it sit for a while, waggle the injector about, twist a bit, lay something over the rocker cover to protect it, and use a pair of long nosed pliers to lever the injector out…….if this does not work get something a bit more substantial to grip the BODY of the injector…..but pull it in a straight line as shown by the arrow, if you pull at an angle you tighten the joint !!!!!
…if it's VERY tight you may find that the seal has hardened too much, it's supposed to be slightly soft, and may break up when it eventually comes out (never did find the remains of the first 2 I pulled when I first got the GTI)
VAG still do the correct seals, cheap too !!!!

Bloody hell these things were in for life, I got a pair of grips and bent them trying to get these little gits out.
Still only managed three, the one seems to be a right *******, going to spray some more Wd40 and give it another go later..
Seals were rock hard.
