Injector Part Numbers

Right have a Mk1 Gti cab year 89 with DX engine.

GSF couldn't seem to find the right injectors the screw was too big for my fuel lines.

Anyway I've been offered some at a god price part number 049 133 551A any ideas whether these will fit????

cheers for help in advance.

VW parts listing states 049 133 551A,  049 133 551,  049 133 551F as applicable. It appears 049 133 551A are for chassis code E (1984), 049 133 551 for F-G (1985>1986) and 049 133 551F for G onwards (1987>). Don't think they would be interchangable as fuel injection system changed over the years.

From what I can find out, still searching for the perfect later Cab Giude, but the later cabs share parts with the MK11 and it all gets a little confusing. :banghead:

I changed the fuel lines (with new washers at the metering head) to match the threads of the injectors..(visit a good scrappy and give them a good clean and blow through)..and gently eased off the 'top hats' to put on my new injectors….mine's an early '87 and seems to use Mk2 bits - and Mk2 injectors work fine in it.
The second image down in the following link shows the coaser thread and the 'top hats'

Injector Test

I need to check this out in greater detail - part numbers and threads, top hats or not (depends on if the plastic shroud is fitted and from when)……

When I broke one of the plastice injector seats VW supplied me with the ones in your picture (the brass one) but this didn't fit properly. Eventually I had to fix the seat with fiberglass as they could not find the correct part and had tried various options. So injector parts and threads seem to be a pain in the arse. :banghead:

VW supplied you with the wrong seat, the brass and plastic ones differ, as you probably guessed  . www.eurocarparts.co.uk were selling the plastic ones not long ago.

Pull one of your injectors to get the correct part number and give that to GSF and see what they can do. There will also be a bosch part number on it, Bosch's website has a dealer locator.

I ended up getting mine from GSF I think.

Cheers,

Ross

Doh… didn't think of that. All injectors have the part number on them. Got mine from local Bosch Service Agent, were as cheap as GSF.
