Post

Hi guys, i want to replace the plastic sleaves that the injectors slide into on the cylinder head of my 1.8gti. There is what looks like alan key shape inside the sleaves but i wanted info on extraction b4 i tried it incase it brakes up an goes in the head. I hopefully want to do it without taking the head off. All help is welcome, cheers mick.

You'll need a large hex type socket but the collar is probably set solid in the head. When you try and turn the socket it'll either round off the edges or break bits off which fall into the head!
I had to wait until my head was off to replace.

These are the correct inserts for a DX head.

Hi Mick I changed mine with the head off but I was lucky and mine unscrewed without any problem I used a large Allen key if I remember correctly. So maybe you could remove them with the head on.

now where do i get a new set from, i actually only 'need' 2 but whats the point in that lol
Dano, is that an ebay job or is there some1 on ere that sells them? cheers again for ur help fellas, much appreciated

The ones that I got were from VW Heritage. There are two different types so if yours look like that then use the part number on the label in the photo.

Glad they came out for you!

There are Jim, the ones in the picture and a shorter, stubby set.
