Highn pitched whistle on lift off and stalling at junction

Well the car is up and kind of running,

It is very lumpy, stalls on the approach to junctions as the revs drop and always gives a high pitched scream / whistle off throttle the noise seems to be coming from the area behind the dash speedo etc ?

It re starts after a few turns once stalled, and will idle with out stalling the problem only seems to occur at junctions ?

Any advice appreciated, I'm thinking vacuum leak possibly ?

Sounds like it to me too.
Check all the pipes over first id say.

Right that's the vacuum problem found, their is a small take off near the idle screw that was open ended. I've blanked it for now, what is this for ?

Could be its unused and the blanking plugs fell off/perished, or it could be the vacuum port for the advance return on the dizzy.

Well the port is now blanked , the Aux air valve is now wired up, it wasn't before ? But the noise is still their and the car still stalls as the revs drop, is junctions etc.

The scream, whistle , screech happens both when driving and when out of gear stationary

I've spent most of the day on this and am loosing my marbles, it appers to be coming from the Aux air valve or the throttle body area???

the screetch sounds like the oil buzzer to me if it comes from behind the dash.

Loose connection i would think.
