High Tick over when hot

Hi All,

I have a 1983 1.8 gti and i have a small issue with the tick over speed. When the car is cold the tick over is perfect but when its up to temperature its tick over moves up to around 1200 - 1300 rpm.

I beleive there is a valve that controls warm tickover but i do not know what its called or where it lives.

Any advice on this would be great, as would a part number and/or name of what i need to order.

Nope - I would say you need an AAV - Auxiliary Air Valve. It sits at the back of the inlet manifold. If you can't get the idle down when warm - this is usually the culprit. Do a search on here for tests - involves pinching a pipe when cold - then hot and listening to what the revs do.

you got red striped gti front seats if so how much if breaking them? or just breaking enignine and components if doing conversion?
