hi 1984 cab

i have seen a golf 1984 cabro for sale its got a 1.8 8v gti engine.it said its got a fuel switch instead of a relay is this a bad thing i am new to all of this thanks all

mine has the same, it just means your pump in the tank ain'tworking off the relay. the switch is just a permanant live to the pump frm the battry that you turn on and off yourself.
the onnly thing is that the cut-off will not work should you plant the car into a tree or something. but you could have a cut-off switch put in line with the feed to the pump i think.
