HELP!!!!

hi,when the car starts if i open the throttle fast it die`s but if i open the throttle slowly it wil rev all day and i can hear a clicking sound from near pot one could be the plug or lead maybe but it dont always start.i`ve changed the warm up regulator and fuel pump. its a mk1 1.8gti cab. can anyone help. :dontknow:  :dontknow:     

i`ve looked and the leads aint arching so i dont know what that clicking noise is but it wont start can anyone shed some light onto it. cheers

clicking near pot one,is your plug loose?????has it just started to click or has it clicked for a while

with out seeing it, its hard to say,but a clicking non starting engine is not a good sign,but i might be wrong  :dontknow:
