Help Please not running :(

Hello all

I have a j reg 1.8 injec clipper. Was told that the fuel pump was broken so today I have put a new in line pump on as the lifter pump seems fine. Also new plugs and filters all round but will still not run?

It spark and will run for a few seconds and then cut out, sometimes will let me rev once then cut out? any ideas please

I thinking it is a fuel problem and with the car standing could be the injectors? But my knowledge of injectors is poor as all other cars i have worked on have been carb'd

Any advise would be great cause am feed up

disconnect one of the wires from the main pump, turn key 1 click or turn over and listen for the in-tank pump. if it makes no sound then it needs to be replaced, or there is a wiring fault
