help needed!!

tried starting my car this morn, started for a second then cut out, now it wont even entertain, battery got full charge and is tryin to start but just wont do it, any1 know what it could be?
am thinkin its starved of fuel but i know theres sum in the tank

any advice much appriciated cheers

It could be many things. What kind of car is it?

Does it start if you bump start it, or jump start from another car?

its a 1990 gti cabriolet,
no it wont jump from another, even tried a brand new battery

Check for a spark. If you have a spark, then use some cold start spray and see if it starts and runs off this for a few seconds.

if i do this and it runs for a few seconds then cuts out, does that mean the fuel aint getting thru?

Basically, yes.

if its not this, any other ideas?
