HELP!! My car wont work

Help

I have a VW Golf MK1 and can't get it to start. It cut out on me two weeks ago and hasn't started since. I have had the car in at two garages (one of which was a vw specialist) and they have both said they can't figure out what's wrong.

The car starts but does not keep running, I have had the immobiliser disconnected so it's not that cutting it out. It has full pressure (although not 100% whether there is full pressure to the injectors).

Have changed the fuel metering head and the pressure regulator valve with no luck.

I really am stuck on what this could be, if anyone has had a similar problem then please let me know. I'm pulling my hair out!!!

Mine was doing this last year, turned out to be
muck in the fuel tank, runs ok, then all of a sudden
cut out, left it a bit, and it ran again.

I ended up replacing the tank (you can flush them out)
replace fuel filter, replaced pump , then realy as I
burnt that out as well. I also replaced the injectors
as a precaution.


It may be something as simple as a dodgy earth though?
If it starts & runs, its either something getting hot,
and failing, Coil, dizzy cap (cracked), or fuel related, im
not a mechanic by the way, I just figured mine out by trial
and error, which is very frustrating!, but I had tried everything
by the time I got to the fuel side of things, because fuel
was always reaching the cylinders I overlooked it  :roll:
