HELP - Engine Rebuld Q - Got the wrong topic initially... ;)

My 1992 Mk1 GTi Cabriolet has had a head skim & overhaul, but I've ended up with a temp sensor or something similar which I can't find a home for… I'd written on it "rocker cover" but cant see it on the "before" pictures! Can anyone have a look under their bonnet and tell me where it goes?…

and this is the location of where abouts it seems to go to. Note the other thing on the corner of the rocker cover which i wasn't sure where to attach, so maybe I got that bit wrong too?

the first one looks like it should fit to the head, but you already have one there in that first pic.
the loose wire is fitted to the rocker cover with the other one already there

however, i have a tendensy to be wrong alot, tho the fact ive just put this up means someone will come and correct my misinformation
